Of the 5 purple tree collard cuttings I had last summer, I only had 2 successful plants. They did very well over the winter and by spring they had lots of little new growths along the stems.
This spring I have attempted to make more cuttings with the new growth.
I also wanted to see if I could propagate with just one leaf…and to my surprise, it actually produced it’s own little sprout. What an amazing plant!
Here is my first batch of fresh tree collard leaves. The bigger leaves were slightly bitter, but the smaller and younger ones were really good. I think this will become one of my favorite greens to cook with this year.
